A number of tweaks and fixes are on the way to Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, which arrived on PlayStation 4 and 5 with several bugs last month. An upcoming patch is being worked on, details of which were shared by developer ZA/UM’s freelance ad agent Idiot Doom Spiral. That isn’t a typo, as the patch post remained in character while it detailed the incoming fixes.
“Maybe blame it on the Doomed Commercial Area, birthplace of doomed dreams, resting place for every venture. Blame it on an incursion of the apocalypse in a localized space, or whatever Tequila Sunset hits you with. Blame it on a call to Abigail,” Spiral explained. “Or just blame it on us. Because it is our fault, that’s true. We’re all just human beings dreaming big, and not always making those dreams come true like we hope. But we’re going to try anyway, and try again, until we get it right. And we will.”
Once Patch 1.3 arrives, you can expect the following tweaks and improvements:
- Tons of voice-over fixes
- Improved Kim pathfinding
- Fixed controller interaction during Seafort Dream
- Fixed controller interaction with The Pigs
- Fixed Sandcastle interaction
- Fixed car interaction
- Fixed instances where the tide never receded near the swings
- Fixes pawnshop healing interaction
- Fixed Thought Cabinet freezes
- Fixed save game bugs
- Fixes for cutscene locks and edge-case interactions with controllers
- And a little bit this and that, general house cleaning after stormy development
In case you missed out on the 2019 hit game which starred an amnesiac alcoholic detective trying to solve a strange murder, the Final Cut of Disco Elysium is the definitive version of the RPG that makes numerous improvements such as increased frame rates, new streamer-friendly features, and more than a million fully-voiced words in total.
Four new quests that flesh out the experience, known as “political vision quests,” adds even more longevity to Disco Elysium provided that you know how to meet the right prerequisites for this extra content.
